So when I was sick I watched a lot of daytime television and there are two ridiculous lines, in particular, that made me wheeze with laughter. The wheezing was because I couldn’t frickin’ breathe.
1. “I have no bad habits.” – spoken by a deadly serious Martha Stewart during a crafts portion of her daily syndicated talk show. C’mon, that’s the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. No bad habits, my Dr. Pepper lovin’ ass. Of course you have bad habits, one of which landed you in jail. I’m just sayin. That was a stupid thing to say.
2. “If you’re going to force me to marry you, E.J., you can expect the MARRIAGE FROM HELL.” - Sami on Days of Our Lives. And the emphasis is not mine-all in the actor’s delivery. Actually, I was half-asleep when I heard that and it was so goofy I wheezed in my sleep. Wheezed, not whizzed. Just clarifying.
So, yeah, really bored. I had a lot of work to catch up on when I got back to the office, so I dutifully worked really, really hard and got all caught up. I actually have one project I still need to do but it will take me longer than fifteen minutes and if I start now, I’ll wind up staying late on a Friday, which I really don’t want to do.
You know I should always work that hard. It seems like I am the most productive on two separate occasions-either I am about to go on vacation so I’m working like mad to make sure everything gets done, or I’ve just come back from vacation/being sick (and these days there’s really not much of a difference-I’ll explain in a sec) and I’m working like mad to catch up. I’m insanely productive on those days. And deep inside I know I could be that way always and yet here I am, writing on the blog you’re reading…hey, wait! Where are you going? Come back!! I need attention.
So, oh yeah, vacations/sick being the same. Lately, every single time I take a vacation day, I wind up getting sick the day before. I am officially afraid to take vacations from work now. I have a day off coming up a week from today and I just know I’m going to wind up with the flu or something. It is the most unfair thing in the entire universe to be sick on a vacation. And the second most unfair thing is being sick on a weekend. If one must be sick, it should be on a Monday in which there are multiple meetings scheduled and you have to sit next to that one employee, she-who-must-not-be-named. Or it could be a He. I’m not saying I have a co-worker like that…
How ’bout those Cowboys?
Hee. Cowboys. Like I know a frickin’ thing about football.
Well, I’m stopping here. I’d like to go visit my blog-buddies. Have a great weekend.

Martha Stewart has NO bad habits. Um, except being a deluded bitch.
Sorry. That just came out of freakin’ nowhere!
Um, sorry you didn’t get to be sick on a day when you had multiple meetings with She-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named and heck yeah she’s a SHE-DEVIL (most of the tim, except those days when she mysteriously morphs into a really nice person whom you mysteriously hate for being nice because you can’t hate her dispassionately).
love yer stinkin’ guts!
